Darwin and Wolf are the planet's premier big-animal sites: walls of scalloped hammerheads, whale sharks cruising the blue, and dense pelagic action.
When to go
June–November runs cooler with the best whale shark odds at Darwin; December–May is warmer with hammerhead and manta aggregations. Cold thermoclines year-round.

Logistics
| Getting there | Long-haul + domestic flight + liveaboard crossing. Fly to Baltra (GPS) or San Cristóbal via Quito or Guayaquil. Darwin and Wolf are liveaboard-only — there is no day-boat access. |
|---|---|
| Where to stay | Expedition liveaboard only. Liveaboard exclusively for the northern islands. Board near Santa Cruz; itineraries run 7–8 nights. |
| Operator to look for | Master-rated liveaboard operators only — strong currents, negative entries and surface conditions demand experience. |
